Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Platelet-rich plasma contains a higher concentration of platelets, which contain special proteins called growth factors that play a key role in your body’s ability to stimulate regrowth and rejuvenate damaged tissues. PRP therapy uses the body’s own healing properties for:
- Skin and facial rejuvenation
- Restoring aging or scar tissue to normal, healthy skin
- Stimulating hair follicles for fuller looking hair
Microneedling
The “vampire facial” involves the healing properties of your own blood, plasma and platelets, combined with a small amount of calcium chloride. When injected into the face using micro-needling, this technique causes mild inflammation that triggers the healing cascade. As the platelets organize in the treatment area, they release enzymes that attract stem cells and growth factors to the affected area.
As a result, new collagen begins to develop. As the collagen matures, it begins to shrink, causing tightening and strengthening that adds volume to your skin and gives you a fresher, more youthful appearance.
With microneedling (also known as collagen induction therapy), we use a specialized micro-pen to cause microscopic punctures in the skin. The skin responds by producing collagen and elastin, two key building blocks of skin. Over time, this will act to increase the thickness, suppleness and general condition of the skin in these areas.
Microneedling also creates channels through which any topical application applied to the skin’s surface can be absorbed far more easily and more deeply. Often, your own plasma is used to increase the effectiveness of the procedure. Exosomes can also be applied to maximize regeneration, repair and collagen production. Because the procedure uses your own cells and fluid, it is suitable for all skin types, improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, as well as scars on the face and body.
Botox®
Botox® (botulinum toxin) is a non-invasive injectable treatment for skin rejuvenation. Botox reduces lines and wrinkles associated with facial movements, particularly in the upper part of the face, such as around the eyes (crow’s feet), on the forehead and between the eyebrows.
Your provider will assess the areas to be treated and use an antiseptic to cleanse the skin. Then, using a syringe with an ultra-fine needle, small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected into the treatment area. The treatment usually takes 10-15 minutes.
B12 Injections
While the cosmetic options described above are designed to help you look younger, B12 injections are an anti-aging technique designed to help you feel younger, too. That’s because when our bodies are deficient in Vitamin B12, we feel it – in the form of fatigue and general weakness, constipation, numbness or tingling sensations, and even memory loss. In short, we feel better when we have enough of the essential Vitamin B12.
While oral supplements will work for some, people with moderate to severe deficiencies will benefit more quickly and completely with injections.
